A fall scene in Kenai, looking across the Cook Inlet. I was painting from life while the model read Ibsen, like a true citizen of the North. We settled on spot where Mount Iliamna was framed between two glacial erratics. I painted until the incoming tide finally forced us back. A pod of whales made themselves visible in the distance as we were packing up, which made for a nice hike back up the beach. It always pays to work from life.
